Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in Andhra Pradesh, India. It is the second largest surviving stretch of mangrove forests in India with 24 mangrove tree species, and more than 120 bird species. It is home for the critically endangered white-backed vulture and long billed vulture.



Kakinada to Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary – (20 Km)

  • Start your road journey for Mada forest which is located at a distance of about  20 km from Kakinada on Kakinada-Yanam Road and 80 km from Rajahmundry (via) Ramachandrapuram over Coringa.
  • You will take a boat ride into the mangroves and see how rich the biodiversity of this wildlife sanctuary is.
  • later you will be dropped back at Kakinada or Rajahmundry.

Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary located in East Godavari District in an area of 235.70 Sq. Kms.  The largest surviving patch of Mangrove forests in the State with more than 65 Mangrove tree species. Home for the rare, endangered Smooth Indian Otter, Fishing Cat, Estuarine Crocodile. The Sanctuary in the estuary of river Godavari supports rich mangrove vegetation with species like Rhizophora, Avicennia, Sonneratia, Aegiceros. FAUNA: Otter, Fishing Cat, Jackal, Marine Turtle and Estuarine Crocodile. Most common birds are Sea Gulls, Storks, Herons, Snipes, Ducks and Flamingos
